Khayelitsha Township

This huge area of informal housing lies on the edge of Cape Town. One of its Anglican parishes has an inspiring story to tell, and I paid it several visits.


A brand new church has been built,
with rooms for pre-school children to learn and play.

Some local children gave us a warm welcome.

The processions took ages to come in...

...and everyone took part. The service lasted 4 and a half hours!

Finally it was time to say "Goodbye" to the townships...

...and "Goodbye" to Cape Town.
